Birdwatching - an abundance of peaceful birdwatching sites including budle Bay and the Farne Islands

Holy Island of Lindisfarne: Do remember that Holy Island is tidal and the tides cannot be beaten - even with a 4 x 4. To be safe please check the safe daily crossing times before you set off.
Berwick on Tweed area: L S Lowry Trail, The Hayloft Gallery at Paxton House. It contains the pre-eminent Scottish collection of Chippendale furniture and acts as an outstation of the National Galleries of Scotland.
The Northumberland coastline has more than its fair share of amazing castles: Bamburgh Castle, Warkworth Castle and Dunstanburgh Castle. These are within easy reach of Corbett Cottage. These three are all on the Heritage Coastal Route. Lindisfarne Priory is also a must see.
Farne Island boat trips offer the opportunity to visit a fascinating site. As well as being the most famous sea bird sanctuary in the UK, there is also a large colony of grey seals. www.farne-islands.com

Chillingham Castle is the home of Sir Humphrey Wakefield Bart and is also close to the famous wild white cattle of Chillingham.
